I really enjoyed your Onate follow-up show (local) and the PBS Onate show that preceded. Please be advised that many Hispano academic/activists violently deny the oppression of Native people by Spanish colonizers, ostensibly because of the inconvenient reality of having to share victimhood and oppressorship instead of the far more desirable label of 'victim of Anglo oppression ONLY.' Likewise, their are Anglo New Mexicans who find yet another token of racial superiority in not being responsible for the acts of men like Onate, Pisarro and Cortez. As if there were no Puritan fathers and Pequots, no Andy Jacksons and Seminoles or Custers and Sioux. Tribalism with a capital tee is obviously a potent blinder of tribespersons, no?
